Airport Freeway project included a 10.8-mile expansion of SH 121/SH 183 from IH 820 to SH 161 across Tarrant County and Dallas County, Texas. The expansion project included the acquisition of approximately 83 acres of ROW from 324 properties to expand the facility to a 12- to a 14-lane facility (including 6 toll lanes) with continuous 2-lane, one-way frontages. Notable impacts from the project included the relocation of 128 single family homes and 104 multi-family units, the displacement of 28 businesses, and the need for noise barriers for impacted receivers.

Berg Oliver completed the preparation of the Environmental Assessment (EA) document and attended various multi-agency meetings with local stakeholders. The firm also conducted a vegetation/habitat assessment, socioeconomic and environmental justice evaluation (including community impacts), a biological survey of protected species, wetland delineation, Section 404 permit determination, and indirect and cumulative impacts (ICI) analysis. Upon completion of the Airport Freeway project, greater mobility and decreased congestion between Fort Worth and the Dallas Metroplex will be achieved.
